The train is named the NextGen Acela, and will connect the Northeast Corridor between Washington DC, New York City, and Boston along 457 miles of track.
The “premium” fleet of trains includes a vast list of premium amenities that are offered in first class and business class.
With its new breakneck speeds, the Acela can complete the trip from New York City to Washington DC in just around two hours and 45 minutes.
Plus, the trains use a tilt system that makes rides ever smoother and quieter, Amtrak boasts on its website.
These new trains have large, comfortable seats with plenty of leg room and a winged headrest for privacy.
Travelers can enjoy fast 5G Wi-Fi if they want to watch movies or get some work done while they commute.
Plus, power outlets are available in every seat for charging devices.
Hungry travelers can visit a dining car to take a look at its selection of new, high-quality food and drinks.
And those who opt for business class will be able to get service from a dining cart.
No matter what section you opt for, every seat is situated in the middle of a large window that showcases the northeastern landscape the entire ride.
“With more daily departures, there has never been a better way to travel in the Northeast,” Amtrak writes on its website.
Travelers wanting to take a ride on the Acela can purchase tickets directly on Amtrak’s website.

AMTRAK EXPANDS
The Acela is just the latest in a series of updates that Amtrak plans to release soon.
The company said that it plans to modernize its broader fleet, and not just upgrade operations in the northeast.
In 2026, the Amtrak Airo is set to start taking its first trips.
This train will zoom through major northeastern cities and into other areas like Virginia, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
The fleet will be the company’s first hybrid-electric powered cars.
The trains will zoom at 125 mph and include upgraded interiors.
Meanwhile, plans are zooming ahead on the West Coast for a high-speed train in California from Los Angeles to San Francisco.
Governor Gavin Newsom confirmed plans for the project, but the timeline looks hazy.
