Hollow Knight: Silksong generated strong attention following its release on Friday, but reviews from players in China on Steam have been mixed. A significant portion of criticism has centered on the quality of the Simplified Chinese translation, which many describe as a confusing blend of classical and modern Chinese that hampers understanding of the narrative. Some players went as far as to claim it was “worse than AI translation.” Beyond translation issues, players also raised concerns about the game’s high difficulty and the absence of a pre-order option. The developers have since responded, stating that improvements to the Chinese translation will be made in the coming weeks and thanking players for their feedback.
