IT might only be the middle of summer but shoppers are being warned to expect to see Halloween decorations already in stores.
Home Depot’s enormous and utterly iconic giant Skelly, is making a return after going viral in 2020.

Not only that, but the ultimate staple of Halloween yard décor is getting a bit of a makeover:.
Presenting Ultra Skelly, a high-tech version of its predecessor.
Though Home Depot and competitors like Walmart’s unofficial “Summerween” events have invited some controversy among customers, it’s great news for those who want to snatch up the latest iteration of Skelly before October 31 rolls around.
However, the new Ultra Skelly is not be as tall as its original version.
Unlike the 12-ft version, the new Skelly caps off length-wise at 6.5 ft.
But its updates – some of them upgrades on preexisting amenities – might appeal even more to spooky season shoppers.
Equipped with LED lights to give its face and chest an eerie glow, the plug-in-powered decoration has the ability to move many of its parts, including its head, jaws, torso, and arms, thanks to built-in sensors to detect trick-or-treaters.
TRICK OR TREAT?
The Ultra Skelly’s eyeballs, rigged with LCD, offer up to 18 options for lighting its otherwise dark and doom-like sockets.
Its remote-controlled installable phone app allows users to upload up to 30 pre-recorded messages.
Ultra Skelly owners can even speak directly through it to candy-seekers who dare trespass in search of treats in different voices.
These include Robot, Alien, Echo, Low-Pitch, and High-Pitch.
In addition to the latest, most decked-out Skelly to date, The Home Depot’s legendary and beloved Halloween lawn decoration is getting a new skeletal friend: the Long Grave & Bones LED Skelly cat.
Similar to its predecessor, 2024’s 7-ft Skelly dog, The Home Depot’s new kitten companion also comes with LED eyes – though at 5 ft, it’s slightly shorter in stature.
So what’s the reasoning behind these additions – both the newest version of Skelly and his boneyard feline companion?
HOME DEPOT HALLOWEEN
Ultra Skelly isn’t the only item you can by for spooky season
“We want to help our customers make Halloween unforgettable,” Aubrey Horowitz, The Home Depot’s decorative holiday merchant, stated in a press release, adding, “This year’s collection has something for everyone.
“We’ve combined creativity, quality and value to make your celebrations even spookier,” Horowitz concluded.
As of this report, Ultra Skelly will sell at $279 once it officially hits the market on August 4.
Skelly cat can be purchased at $199 on the same date.
Both will be available online and in stores.
And if you’re still an original 12-ft Skelly purist, it’s possible to get one in time for Halloween 2025, as long as you move fast. The Home Depot plans to list it at its original $299 price.
