Honor CEO Zhao Ming posted on the Chinese social platform Weibo to reflect on the past four years of the company’s independence from Huawei and the challenges faced, following the launch of the Honor Magic 7 series flagship phones on Wednesday night. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the Honor Magic 7 Pro features a 200MP telephoto lens, a 6.82-inch quad-curved AMOLED LTPO screen, a 5,850 mAh battery, 100W wired fast charging, and MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 14. “Honor’s strong global presence has been driven by the unwavering dedication of our 14,000 employees and the encouragement of all our customers,” Zhao said. The company has invested about 10% of its revenue in R&D (research and development) each year, he added. In November 2020, Honor broke away from Huawei due to U.S. sanctions on Huawei.
