How I Find Amazon Products Before They Go Viral
SHARE

This website contains affiliate links. Some products are gifted by the brand. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. The content on this website was created with the help of AI.

While I share money-making strategies, nothing is “typical”, and outcomes are based on each individual. There are no guarantees.

I’m about to show you the exact method I use to find winning Amazon products before they go viral. And no, this isn’t about scrolling TikTok for hours or using the same old product research tools everyone else is. This strategy relies on one powerful platform that has completely transformed my product research. It’s helped me find gems that my tools estimate are doing $50,000 a month in revenue with almost no video competition—long before anyone else.

This is a masterclass for serious Amazon influencers. This is for those of you who’ve put in the work. You’ve built your storefront, you have hundreds of videos, but you’ve hit a wall. You’re fighting for a spot in crowded carousels, your commission growth has flatlined, and you’re spending more and more time just to maintain your earnings, let alone grow them. If you’re ready to stop working harder and start working smarter—to truly treat your influence as a business—then this is exactly what you’ve been looking for.

The Problem & The “Old Way”

Let’s be real for a second about the grind. The “old way” of finding products is broken, especially for established influencers. You’ve probably spent countless hours, maybe even days, digging through Amazon’s best-sellers list, right? You find a product that looks promising—it has thousands of positive reviews, it’s clearly selling well. You get excited, order it, film a great review, upload it… and then, crickets. Your video gets buried. Why? Because you were late to the party. By the time a product hits the best-sellers list, it’s already saturated. You’re not just competing with a handful of other influencers; you’re up against fifty, a hundred, maybe more. I’ve seen some top-tier products where it feels like over a thousand influencer videos are all fighting for the same limited carousel spots. It’s a race to the bottom where your hard work gets lost in the noise.

Then there’s the social media rabbit hole. Everyone says, “Just find trending products on TikTok!” It sounds simple, but what does that really mean? It means hours of mindless scrolling, trying to guess if you’re seeing a fleeting meme or a real product trend. You might see a cool gadget in a 15-second clip, but that gives you no real data. What’s the demand on Amazon? What’s the revenue? Who are the competitors? You’re essentially gambling your time and money on a hunch. You buy the product, film the video, and by the time you post, the trend has already peaked. Or worse, you find a product that is going viral, but so have fifty other savvy influencers who are already two steps ahead of you.

And don’t get me started on the classic product research tools. Many of them are powerful, but they’re built for FBA sellers, not for us. They throw complex data at you about shipping weights, manufacturing costs, and profit margins for selling the product yourself. That’s not what we do. We need to know about commission potential, video competition, and the odds of our content actually getting seen. Using those tools feels like trying to use a master mechanic’s toolkit just to change a tire. It’s overly complicated, expensive, and most of the features are totally irrelevant to our business. You end up with data paralysis, staring at spreadsheets that don’t answer the one question that matters: “Will making a video for this product actually make me money?” Honestly, the old way is just a frustrating hamster wheel that keeps you stuck.

Introducing Your “Secret Weapon” – The Platform

A few months ago, I hit that same wall. My earnings were stagnant, and I felt like I was spending more time on dead-end research than actually creating. But then, I found a platform that completely changed the game for me. It’s the key to how I find high-demand, low-competition products before they blow up, and it’s helped me scale my influencer earnings faster than ever. That platform is Viral Vue.

Now, let me be clear. This isn’t another generic tool for beginners who are still figuring out how to set up a storefront. Viral Vue is an advanced platform built specifically for experienced Amazon Influencers who want to scale their business. It’s for people like us, who get the fundamentals and are now focused on efficiency and data-driven growth. It’s a tool that respects our most valuable asset: our time.

So what makes it so different? Viral Vue feels like an entire ecosystem for influencers. It combines product analytics, campaign tracking, and some slick automation features into a single dashboard. It works by scanning and analyzing Amazon pages, pulling live data that is super relevant to us. The tool gives you things like a “Viral Score” which measures its estimate of demand against competition, an estimated 30-day revenue, the exact number of competing influencer videos it finds, and even if it detects an active Creator Connections campaign for higher commissions.

This is the “secret weapon” that top influencers seem to be using to get an edge. It’s what lets them stop guessing and start making decisions based on data. It’s how they find products that the tool estimates are doing $50,000 a month with only three competing videos, while everyone else is fighting over a product with sixty competitors. The platform has several core parts, including the “Product Vue” tool for analyzing product data, an “Order History Scanner” to find gems you already own, and a “Storefront Scanner” for checking out the competition. By using these tools systematically, you shift from being a reactive creator to a strategic business owner. You stop chasing trends and start creating them. In the next sections, I’m going to walk you through my exact, step-by-step process for finding these untapped products. This is the method that broke me through my plateau, and I’m confident it can do the same for you.

The Tutorial – “Here’s How I Do It”

The Mindset Shift – From Influencer to Data Analyst

Okay, before we even open the tool, we need to talk about the most important part of this whole thing: your mindset. If you want to scale from four figures a month to five or even six, you have to start thinking less like a content creator who just happens to make money, and more like the data-driven CEO of your own media company. Your storefront isn’t just a collection of videos; it’s a portfolio of digital assets. Every video is an investment, and every product is a strategic bet. The top earners in this program aren’t just better at making videos; they are better at making data-backed decisions.

The average influencer runs on hunches. They see a cool product on TikTok, buy something they like, and create a video, hoping for the best. Their strategy is hope. A professional, a true digital entrepreneur, operates on data. They know that behind every successful video placement is a set of specific, measurable metrics. They don’t hope a product will perform; they select products that the data suggests have a high probability of success.

This is where a tool like Viral Vue becomes the foundation of your new mindset. It’s designed to answer the critical business questions that separate the pros from the amateurs:

  1. What’s the real market demand? Not just, “Is it trending?” but what does the tool estimate its 30-day sales revenue is on Amazon?
  2. What’s the true competition? Not, “Are there other videos?” but exactly how many influencer videos are on the listing? Is the top carousel already full?
  3. What’s the profit potential? What’s the commission rate? Is there a Creator Connections campaign that could boost my commission from 3% to maybe 20%?
  4. What’s the “virality potential”? The platform synthesizes demand and competition into a single “Viral Score,” giving you an at-a-glance idea of a product’s untapped potential.

Embracing this mindset means your product selection is about to get a major upgrade. You’ll no longer just browse Amazon for things that look cool. Instead, you’ll be running a systematic analysis. You’ll spend less time on products with 100 competing videos—no matter how cool they are—and more time uncovering hidden gems with huge estimated revenue and only one or two other videos on the page. This is how you work smarter. You let the data point you directly to the opportunities with the highest potential return. With that mindset locked in, let’s fire up the first tool: Product Vue.

The Deep Dive – Mastering Product Vue for Pre-Viral Discovery

Product Vue is the heart of the Viral Vue platform and the engine of my discovery process. This is where we go from vague ideas to solid, data-backed opportunities. Think of it as your X-ray vision for Amazon. While everyone else sees a standard product page, you’re about to see the data underneath that really determines its potential. Here’s my exact workflow.

I start broad and then get laser-focused. I don’t just search for random products. I start in a category I know well, like “Kitchen & Dining.” I won’t just search “kitchen gadgets” on Amazon—that’s way too generic. Instead, I might go to the “Kitchen & Dining” best-sellers page as a starting point, but I’m ignoring the top 10 products. Those are already saturated. I’m just using this page to give Viral Vue a place to start its analysis.

Once I’m on a category page, I open the Viral Vue Chrome extension and fire up “Product Vue.” This pulls all the products on the page into a new interface, loaded with data points. At first, it can feel like a lot, but this is where our data analyst mindset kicks in. We’re going to use filters to find the gold.

Here are the exact filters I personally use to find these “pre-viral” products:

Filter 1: Monthly Revenue. First thing’s first: I’m not interested in products that don’t sell. As a general rule, I set a minimum 30-day estimated revenue of $15,000. This tells me there is proven, consistent demand. People are actively buying it.

Filter 2: Total Influencer Videos. This is probably the most important filter for an influencer. It tells me what my direct competition looks like. For a new search, I’m hunting for wide-open opportunities. I set this filter to be between 0 and 5 videos. Why five? Because it’s a number so low that my chances of landing in the top carousel with one good video are incredibly high. Products with huge revenue estimates and fewer than five competing videos are the definition of a hidden gem.

Filter 3: Creator Connections Campaign. My next filter is a profitability multiplier. I want to see if there are any Creator Connections campaigns available. Accepting a campaign can be the difference between a standard 3% commission and a juicy 15% or 20% commission. In Viral Vue, there’s a simple filter for “Has Creator Connections,” so I’ll toggle that on.

After applying these three filters (Revenue > $15,000, Competition < 6 videos, Has Creator Connections), the list of hundreds of products might shrink to just a handful. That’s exactly what we want. We’ve filtered out the saturated, low-margin junk and are left with a curated list of potential winners.

Let’s look at a hypothetical from our list: a “Smart Meat Thermometer.” The data in Product Vue might look like this:

  • Product: Smart Meat Thermometer
  • 30-Day Revenue: $85,000 (estimated)
  • Total Influencer Videos: 2
  • Viral Score: 92/100
  • Creator Connections: Yes (12% Commission)
  • Top Carousel Full: No

Now that’s a jackpot. According to the tool, this product is generating close to a million dollars a year in revenue, yet only two other influencers have made a video. The top video carousel isn’t even full, which suggests Amazon might be looking for more content. And there’s a 12% commission waiting. This looks like a product on the cusp of blowing up, but the influencer market hasn’t caught on yet.

My work isn’t done, though. I’ll click on the product and watch those two existing videos. Are they any good? Often, with such low competition, the existing videos are old or not great. This is my chance to come in with a well-produced, helpful video that immediately stands out. I’m not just competing; I’m aiming to dominate.

This systematic, data-driven approach removes emotion and guesswork. It’s a repeatable process that consistently unearths products with a high probability of generating significant income before they become mainstream.

The Hidden Goldmine – Unlocking Your Order History

The Product Vue method is amazing for finding new products. But what if I told you that you might already be sitting on a goldmine of un-reviewed, high-potential products? If you’ve been an influencer for a while, you’ve probably bought hundreds of items from Amazon. Your order history is a treasure trove of content opportunities you already own, meaning your cost to make a video is zero. The problem? Manually digging through years of orders is a total nightmare.

This is where the “Order History Scanner” in Viral Vue is an absolute game-changer. With a single click, this feature scans your entire Amazon purchase history and analyzes every product you’ve ever bought with the same data engine that powers Product Vue. It’s like running a full analysis on everything in your house.

Here’s how I use it every week:

I run the Order History Scanner, and it pulls up a list of my past purchases, enriched with the data we care about: estimated 30-day revenue, total influencer videos, viral score, and Creator Connections availability.

And just like before, I immediately apply filters to find the gems I already own.

Filter Orders
Screenshot

Filter 1:No Video. This one’s obvious. I want to see products I bought but never made a video for. This instantly shows me only new opportunities. Or, maybe I made the video, but it never ranked in the carousel. Time to create a new one.

Filter 2: Total Influencer Videos: 0-10. I’m a bit more lenient on competition here. Since I already own the product, my cost of “acquisition” is zero, so I’m willing to enter a slightly more competitive space if the revenue is high enough. Finding a product I own that has zero videos is the ultimate low-hanging fruit. After that, change the filter to 10-15 or 10-20 and work from there. Easiest to rank for – first.

Filter 3: Monthly Revenue: > $10,000. Again, I have to know there’s a market. It doesn’t matter that I own it if nobody is buying it.

You can also use the viral score to set a minimum. The Viral Score is a tool that helps you figure out which Amazon products have the best chance of going viral. It does this by looking at two main things: demand and competition. The Viral Score tells you how much people want the product (its sales potential) and how many other influencers are already talking about it. A higher score means less competition, which gives you a better chance of standing out and making money from the product. So, the score helps you find the hidden gems — products that have great sales but don’t yet have many influencer videos.

Let’s walk through an example. After running the scanner, the list might reveal a “Silicone Baking Mat Set” that I bought two years ago and completely forgot about.

  • Product: Silicone Baking Mat Set
  • Purchase Date: January 2023
  • No Video: yes (filter)
  • 30-Day Revenue: $25,000 (estimated)
  • Total Influencer Videos: 1
  • Viral Score: 88/100

My jaw drops. I have a product sitting in my kitchen drawer right now that the tool says is doing over a quarter of a million dollars a year in sales, and only one other person has made a video. I don’t need to buy it or wait for shipping. I can walk into my kitchen, pull it out, and film a video this afternoon.

I’ve found some of my best-performing videos this way. I once found a portable car vacuum I bought three years prior. The tool showed it was doing an estimated $40,000 a month with zero influencer videos. I filmed a simple review in my car, uploaded it, and it was in the top carousel within 48 hours.

That single video, for a product collecting dust in my garage, has gone on to generate thousands of dollars in commissions. Without the scanner, I never would have thought to look. For me, uncovering just one or two of these a month made the subscription a no-brainer.

Competitive Espionage – The Storefront Scanner and Spy

Finding a great product is half the battle. Now you have to win the placement. To do that, you need to understand the competitive landscape. Who are the top players in your niche? What are they promoting? And more importantly, what’s working for them?

This is where we get into a more advanced strategy I call “competitive espionage,” powered by Viral Vue’s Storefront Scanner and Storefront Spy features. This isn’t about copying. It’s about data-driven analysis of your competitors to find gaps in the market.

Let’s start with the Storefront Scanner on your own storefront. This tool gives you a bird’s-eye view of your entire video portfolio, showing which of your videos are in the top carousel, bottom carousel, or neither. This data is gold for optimizing your existing content. For instance, I can filter to see all my videos that are currently ranking in “Neither” carousel, but are for products with high estimated revenue and low competition.

This gives me a priority list for creating additional videos for the same product to increase my chances of grabbing a spot. This is a much better use of my time than creating a video for a brand new, unproven product.

Now, let’s turn the lens outward with Storefront Spy. This tool lets you run the same analysis on any influencer’s storefront. This is where the fun begins. I identify 5-10 top influencers in my niche and use Storefront Spy to analyze their entire library.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

  1. Their Winning Patterns: I filter their storefront to see which videos are ranking best. What do these products have in common? Are they all in a specific price range or sub-niche? This helps me understand what’s resonating with the Amazon algorithm and customers in my category.
  2. Gaps in Their Strategy: I look at the products they’re promoting and cross-reference them with Product Vue data. Maybe I find an influencer crushing it with a particular brand of air fryers. Using Storefront Spy, I see they’ve reviewed three models. But then, using Product Vue, I discover the same brand just released a new model that’s already doing an estimated $30,000 a month, and that influencer hasn’t made a video for it yet. That’s my opening.
  3. Cross-Marketplace Opportunities: The Storefront Scanner can also help spot opportunities for cross-promotion in the UK and Canada. If I see a competitor is only active in the US, I can take my existing successful videos and upload them to my Canadian and UK storefronts, opening up new international revenue streams with minimal extra work.

This combination of internal analysis with the Storefront Scanner and external analysis with Storefront Spy gives me a 360-degree view of the competitive landscape. It lets me optimize my own assets, predict market trends, and strategically fill the gaps my competitors have missed.

Bridging the Gap – TikTok and External Trend Validation

tiktok matching

So far, our strategy has been focused on Amazon-native data. This creates a solid, reliable foundation. But to truly get ahead and catch a product at the very start of its viral journey, we need to look at external signals. This, of course, brings us to TikTok.

However, my approach is fundamentally different from the “scroll and hope” method. I don’t use TikTok for discovery; I use it for validation and timing. I use it as a signal to point my data tools toward a potential trend.

Here’s my three-step process:

Step 1: Signal Identification. I do spend time as an affiliate on TikTok, but I’m also watching for products that would work on Amazon too. I’m actively looking for patterns. I follow hashtags like #amazonfinds and others in my niche. I’m not looking for a single viral video, but for a product that starts appearing in multiple videos from different creators. A few months ago, I started seeing a “portable blender bottle” pop up from several fitness creators. It wasn’t one huge hit, but a low-level buzz. That’s a signal.

Step 2: Data Validation with Viral Vue. Once I have a signal, I immediately pivot from TikTok to Viral Vue. I do not buy the product. I go straight to the data. I use Product Vue and search for that exact product on Amazon. Now I apply my rigorous analysis. What’s the estimated revenue? How many influencer videos already exist? What’s the Viral Score? Often, a product just starting to bubble up on TikTok still has fantastic metrics on Amazon. The TikTok buzz hasn’t fully translated to influencer saturation yet. This is the crucial validation step. If the data showed decent revenue but already 50 influencer videos, I’d drop it. The trend is real, but the influencer opportunity is gone.

Some platforms, including Viral Vue, are even trying to build in features that spot these overlaps between TikTok and Amazon, which could automate part of this signal-finding process.

Step 3: Strategic Action. If both the TikTok signal and the Viral Vue data are positive, I act immediately. I order the product that day. Speed is critical because the window for these pre-viral social media trends is small. While other influencers are still waiting to see if the trend is real, I’m already filming, armed with the knowledge that the demand is growing and the competition is low.

This process turns trend-chasing into a calculated strategy. It uses social media as an early warning system and Amazon data as the go/no-go trigger. This is how you can position yourself to ride a viral wave instead of being washed away by it.

Conclusion

So, that’s the system. We’ve gone from the frustrating “old way” of endless scrolling and data paralysis to a sophisticated, data-driven method for professional influencers. This isn’t about finding one lucky product. It’s about implementing a system that transforms you from a content creator into a strategic business owner.

We started with the mindset shift: You’re the CEO of your media empire.

We used Product Vue as our hunting ground, applying strict filters for revenue and competition to systematically unearth high-demand, low-competition products.

Next, we unlocked the hidden goldmine in our own homes with the Order History Scanner, turning past purchases into future profits with zero acquisition cost.

Then, we put on our spy hats with the Storefront Scanner and Storefront Spy to analyze the competitive landscape, optimize our own content, and find the gaps in our competitors’ strategies.

Finally, we used TikTok not as a distraction, but as an early warning system, validating social trends with hard Amazon data to catch viral waves at their inception.

This is the exact, multi-layered system I use every single week. It’s how you stop fighting for scraps and start operating in the blue ocean of untapped opportunity. It’s how you decouple your time from your earnings, because one great video found this way can generate passive income for months or even years. This is how you scale.

The Amazon Influencer Program is evolving. Competition is fiercer than ever. The influencers who will thrive are not the ones with the most followers or fanciest cameras. They will be the ones who leverage data most effectively.

You have a choice. You can continue with the old way—the grind, the frustration, the burnout. Or you can elevate your approach. You can become a data-driven professional and build a scalable, predictable, and wildly profitable business. The tools and the strategies are here.

If you’re serious about making that leap, make sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell. My goal here is to share the real, no-fluff strategies that the top 1% of influencers are using.

And if you want to try the platform that makes this all possible, I’ve left a link to Viral Vue in the description. For me, it has been the single best investment I’ve made in my influencer business. Thank you for your time. Now go build that empire.
