Spotify introduced its divisive Smart Shuffle feature back in 2023, as a way to introduce recommended songs into your playlists and Liked Songs.
While some users embrace the feature and enjoy hearing suggested tracks, others have reported that Spotify tends to just recommend the same songs continuously, which can get pretty annoying after a while.
Fortunately, Spotify has quietly released an option for users to disable the feature altogether. Keep reading to learn how to disable Spotify’s Smart Shuffle feature on both iPhone and Android smartphones.

Troubleshooting
At the time of writing, we believe that Spotify is still rolling out the feature across more accounts and platforms. We’d recommend checking that your Spotify app is up to date and keep checking back.
At the time of writing, this isn’t an option on the desktop app but Spotify may add the feature in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out.
