Kurapika’s latest adventures have left you wanting more, and you’re also looking forward to seeing Gon, Killua, and Leorio again? In that case, it’s time to celebrate because the wait is coming to an end. Almost two years after the publication of chapter 400 in the December 2022 Weekly Shonen Jump, Hunter X Hunter is finally preparing to make its big comeback in the Japanese weekly. Despite his fragile health, Yoshihiro Togashi has been working hard for several months now to continue his still unfinished cult manga.
Just yesterday, the author revealed via his X account (formerly Twitter) that the inking of chapter 420 had just begun. Since the finishing of chapter 410 last July, ten additional chapters have been completed by the mangaka and his assistants. At this rate, Hunter x Hunter is well on its way to following a regular publication for several months. In addition, the festivities will resume very soon, with Chapter 401 will be released on October 7th.

How to watch Hunter x Hunter at the same time as in Japan?
In France, Readers will be able to follow the release of new chapters thanks to Shueisha’s Manga Plus app. This offers free access to the last three chapters of the mangas, which are updated at the same time as in Japan. This means you can enjoy an official translation without further delay. But this system has a flaw. Since the catalog is limited to the last three publications, the French find themselves in a quandary. Indeed, the last volume published in bookstores stops at chapter 390, while Manga Plus suggests starting again at chapter 398. So there are only a few days left to catch up on these few passages in one way or another.
What is volume 38?
The next volumecomprising chapters 391 to 400, was released in Japan on September 4th. Unfortunately, this volume does not yet have a release date outside the archipelago. As a reminder, Kana editions are responsible for publishing the manga in France. We will therefore have to wait for more information from the French publisher before discovering this new volume in our bookstores.
Where to watch the anime in the meantime?
If the return of the manga also makes you want to pick up the anime again, know that French streaming services are pretty well off. In our country, it is possible to find the anime on ADN, Netflix, Prime Video and even TF1+. In the case of the latter, let’s remember that the platform is completely free, provided you watch advertisements. Knowing that some platforms now impose pages of advertisements in their paid packages, the TF1 service is therefore a perfect alternative to dive back into the 2011 version of the Hunter x Hunter anime. As for the classic 1999 version, it is unfortunately not available on the platforms.
