Last Friday, Huawei launched a new center focusing on advancing embodied AI—artificial intelligence systems in physical form that can interact with their environment in real time. The Global Embodied Intelligence Innovation Center, aiming to develop foundational technologies and support industry applications, is a collaboration with Qianhai and Bao’an district government authorities. At the launch event, Huawei signed agreements with 16 companies, including Leju Robotics and Topstar, to foster joint research and development. The initiative reflects Huawei’s continued investment in AI technologies and its efforts to create a collaborative industrial framework. In April 2022, Huawei partnered with Dataa Robotic to work on robotics technology and industry applications, marking its first steps in humanoid robotics.[Yangcheng Evening News, in Chinese]
