In 2025, all new Huawei smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices will come pre-installed with HarmonyOS, with older models gradually receiving the upgrade, according to Huawei. To date, the Mate70 series and Mate X6 smartphones come in HarmonyOS 4.3 and HarmonyOS 5.0 versions. In a New Year’s speech on Tuesday, Huawei’s rotating chairwoman Meng Wanzhou said 2024 was a crucial year for HarmonyOS, marking the start of the company’s extensive ecosystem development. In just one year, HarmonyOS reached the level other operating systems needed a decade to reach, being developed at what Meng called “HarmonyOS speed”. [IThome, in Chinese]
