A BIG-SCREEN Samsung telly has had its price cut at a top UK retailer.

The 50-inch 4K TV is now down to just £279 in a “special offer” sale.

John Lewis is peddling the offer on its website where the TV holds a 4.6/5 rating based on more than 200 reviews.

The official price on Samsung‘s own website is £299, which is already good for a top-brand 4K model of this size.

But it’s now even more tempting after a £20 discount

SEEING IS BELIEVING

Samsung reveals new super TVs that go all the way up to 115-INCHES

It’s a 2025 model – so very new – and comes with a five-year guarantee.

This particular model has a 50-inch panel with a 4K Ultra HD resolution.

That means you’re getting 3,840 pixels horizontally and 2,160 pixels vertically for a total of about 8 million pixels.

It means you can enjoy telly in 4K (as long as the content is 4K, as well as the device – like a Fire Stick – that you’re streaming from) with greater potential for a high-detail image.

This device also supports High Dynamic Range (including HDR10+) telly, which serves up improved contrast and a wider range of colours.

It has 20W speakers, and can be mounted on a wall.

And it also supports several smart helpers including Amazon Alexa and (unsurprisingly) Samsung’s Bixby.

It has three HDMI ports, so you could plug in a Sky box, an Amazon Fire TV Stick, and a games console of your choice.

And there’s also a USB 3.0 port so you can insert a storage drive with whatever you’ve got saved on there.

The TV runs on Samsung’s own Tizen OS, which has loads of popular apps.

That includes Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer, Disney+, and YouTube.

And you can also stream video games over the cloud via Xbox Cloud Gaming or Amazon Luna.

As well as that, the TV includes Samsung TV Plus.

That’s a FAST – or free ad-supported streaming television service – which gets you loads of channels at no extra cost.
