The countdown is on: Submissions close May 7, 2025. So, if you’ve been sitting on an idea, or are just now hearing about this great opportunity, now’s the time to put pen to paper (or fingers to keys) and write for your shot at $2,000 in prizes.

What’s the #blockchain Writing Contest About?

We’re highlighting how decentralized tech interacts with technology scaling, data storage, and operations.

Contest sponsor, Aleph Cloud, is a Web3 Supercloud built on hundreds of globally distributed nodes providing infrastructure for decentralized storage, compute, and AI. They’re backing this contest with a $2,000 prize pool to reward developers, writers, and researchers who can adequately explore the nuances of the decentralized revolution.

To enter, choose at least one writing prompt from the categories below and submit your answer.

Can I Write Under a Pen Name?

Yes! You can use your real name on your HN profile, a fake name, or even create a persona to write under.

When does the Contest End?

Contest Submissions Deadline**:** May 7, 2025

Can I submit more than one entry to the contest?

Of course! Each story submission shall be considered a separate entry into the writing contest.

How are the winners selected?

  • After the submissions window closes, we’ll review submitted entries and shortlist the stories that receive the most eyeballs (real humans, not bots!).
  • Next, the shortlisted stories will be voted on by HackerNoon
  • Finally, the top #decentralized-ai, #decentralized-cloud, and #dePIN stories will be selected and announced.
