I Found the 5 Best Tech Deals for Your Weekend on Laptops, Speakers, TVs, and More

Friday is most people’s favorite workday, but mine is extra-special because I get to put together a curated roundup of the absolute best deals that crossed our path in the deals department this week. With August beginning, back-to-school season is officially here, and retailers are starting to bring the bargains. This week, we’ve got a massive cut on a Copilot-capable laptop, a great budget QLED TV, and more.

TV Deal

Amazon’s line of in-house TV sets has been steadily improving, and their QLED iteration is good enough to get an “Excellent” rating from us in our review, with contrast and color performance that punches way above its weight class, decent design and that familiar Fire TV operating system that’s a breeze to use even for the less tech-savvy. Built-in Alexa voice controls let you interact with the set hands-free, as well as control any compatible smart devices on the same network. It’s not that attractive for gamers, with a 60Hz refresh rate, but input lag is only 3.2 milliseconds. A 38% discount makes it a steal.

Video Doorbell Deals

This is one of the best home security deals we’ve seen in a spell. We reviewed Arlo’s video doorbell positively, giving it an Editors’ Choice award, with simple installation, great video quality and easy interoperability with most of the major smart home systems. It doesn’t have a built-in spotlight, so it’s limited to black and white night vision, and you’ll need an Arlo Secure plan to store video in the cloud and enable smart motion alerts. This price drop brings the 2K model down to even cheaper than the base 1080p one.

Speaker Deals

The recently-released JBL Flip 7 is a capable little boom box that doesn’t do anything envelope-pushing, but with 14 hours of playtime on a single charge, bass-forward sound, industry-leading IP68 water and dust resistance and very noticeable volume, there’s not a lot that it can’t do. It is a mono speaker, but with JBL’s Auracast technology you can network it to up to 7 other compatible speakers for full surround sound. Seeing a price drop this deep so soon after release is pretty surprising, but we’re not complaining.
