A new 4K TV can easily run you into four figures, especially if you’re dead set on getting one with an OLED panel. That means any opportunity to save some cash on one isn’t to be missed. LG has slashed prices on one of its best 2024 offerings, meaning you can pick up the excellent LG C4 OLED for less than $1200.
The 55in version of the LG C4 retails at $1999, but right now it’s available for $1197 on Amazon US. With LG about to launch the C5 series, this is likely the start of prices steadily falling. But this is still almost the cheapest I’ve seen this TV all year. Most other retailers are still hovering well above the $1500.
At 55in this is a great choice for a living room or bedroom. Or, if you’ve got an especially big desk, I’ve heard of many people using them as giant desktop computer monitors too. An upgraded a9 AI image processor helps it deliver cleaner, more precise pictures than the previous generation, while the rear inputs now support 144Hz PC gaming – a step up from the 120Hz support seen elsewhere.
This 4K set plays nicely with Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG formats, which pretty much covers the whole gamut of consumer HDR streaming. LG’s latest evo panel is brighter than previous models. Dolby Atmos decoding is also on board.
A refreshed version of WebOS , with smaller quick cards that make space for a recommended content row, put the things you want to watch front-and-centre. You’re also guaranteed five years of software updates, which should see you through to 2030 without needing to think about a replacement.
