GOOGLE has made its third attempt at a foldable – and it’s the best they’ve made yet.
It’s even a bit cheaper than Samsung’s main competitor, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and comes with a handy bonus perk worth £227.
But it’s not necessarily better…

It’s easy to use, beautifully designed and takes magnificent pics that are almost too good.

So can the foldable version, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, top it?
I’ve been putting the device through it’s paces for the last two weeks…
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Look and feel
The 10 Pro Fold stays true to the Pixel design and looks pretty much like the other models in the range.
However, I’m not keen on the rounded edges on one side with a sharper edge on the joining area.
The camera panel is also quite bulky.
And speaking of bulk, it feels rather heavy too at 258g (ever so slightly weightier than last year’s 9 Pro Fold and way above Samsung‘s Galaxy Z Fold 7 at 215g).
However, the weight isn’t necessarily a bad thing – it makes the device feel strong and sturdy, which is all the more important when you’re dealing with a foldable.
And it’s important to note a geeky improvement that benefits everyone – the 10 Pro fold is IP68.
This means it can’t be destroyed by dust and sand, something particularly tricky to achieve on an foldable and the first of anyone to do so on a foldable too.
As for the displays, I love them, they’re both incredibly bright and scream colour, definition and richness.
I’ve enjoyed watching TV shows on it using both the big screen and using it as a stand too.
The pesky crease along the middle when you open the foldable is still visible but it’s so faint you won’t even notice it when you’ve got anything up and running.
This model I’m testing is in the Moonstone and it’s gorgeous – there’s also a Jade colour.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Performance and features
Google continues to deploy its own Tensor chip in Pixel smartphones which has had a performance bump this year.
It certainly operates smoothly and without any hiccups in my testing – but this chip isn’t as powerful as the Snapdragon chip found in most other top end smartphones around.
The handset runs on Android 16, the latest version of the operating system and it’s my absolute favourite around – which should be a given seeing as Google owns Android – and works just as well when the folded screen is opened up.
Many new and existing features are AI focused – and many are photography based too, which I explain more on later.
Other tools at your disposal include Voice Translate, which translates calls in real-time and sounds like each speaker’s own voice.
Having tried it with my partner in French, it was somewhat eerie to hear.
And it’s all done on device, so no sensitive call conversations are sent off to the cloud.
Google is also among the best for offering quick and fast Android upgrades for years to come, with a commitment to seven operating system versions and seven years of security upgrades.
Who offers free updates longest?
The longer you receive updates, the longer you can safely continue using your smartphone – with the latest features thrown in too for free.
Samsung
Samsung offers at least seven generations of OS updates and seven years of security updates on most of its smartphones, even its latest cheaper FE model.
OnePlus
At the launch of the OnePlus 13, OnePlus committed to at least four years of Android updates and five years of security updates.
Xiaomi
Xiaomi offers four years off Android updates and five years security updates.
Google
For the Pixel 10 series, Google said that devices would receive at least seven years of support.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Battery
Google has given the Fold a much-needed boost to battery.
After all, the extra screens are going to need more power.
For this reason, don’t expect the best battery around – but it will get you through the day no problem.
With the average day-to-day tasks like messaging, browsing on your commute into work, watching videos and playing the odd game it’ll get by.
Don’t forget there’s the handy battery saver and extra battery saver options too.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Camera
Google has retained the same cameras as last year’s Fold.
That includes a 48-megapixel main camera, a 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, as well as a 10.5-megapixel ultrawide camera.
Pixels always take great photos, they’re among my favourite.
However, in the foldable scene the 10 Pro Fold trails behind Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 which has a massive 200-megapixel sensor.
It also doesn’t have the creepily good 100x Pro Res Zoom on the other top Pixel 10 models.
That said, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold still takes great snaps, even from moving objects.
And you have all those handy extra AI features like Add Me and the new Camera Coach which offers you on-screen tips on how to improve your photos.
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Price
The big sticking point with the 10 Pro Fold is price.
Foldables remain quite expensive and this phone is no exception, starting at a whooping £1,749.
Lots of places let you exchange your old phone for a bit of money off these days which helps – Google directly offers up to £850 off.
There’s also the added bonus of Google AI Pro free for a year, which is worth £227.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Verdict
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is the company’s best foldable yet.
It’s feels pretty durable, which is mega important for a foldable device.
I love the glossy display – and Android is also at its best here.
But the camera isn’t as magnificent as Samsung’s – nor the other Pixel 10 devices.
And the battery is just OK.
Not to mention, the price is still pretty steep.
