Robot lawn mowers have come a long way in a short time, taking the pain away from the otherwise physically-intensive and time-consuming chore. Automating lawn care allows you to enjoy your outdoor space without wasting time on maintenance, thanks to continuous innovations that make things smarter, faster, and, most importantly, easier.

At IFA 2025, one of the brands leading the charge is NexLawn, a new member of the MOVA group focused on smart tools and yard tech. Making its debut at the event, NexLawn unveiled a groundbreaking portfolio of robotic lawn care solutions, including a visionary lawn mower that takes things to the next level. Here’s everything you need to know.

NexLawn Master X Vision: More than just a lawn mower

Making its debut at IFA and going on sale next year, the NexLawn Master X redefines what you can expect from automated lawn care and maintenance. Many robot lawn mowers have different capabilities, but none can do it all. That’s where the Master X stands out, by being an all-in-one solution that can handle a variety of lawn care scenarios.

That starts with the first-of-its-kind multi-gripper, a robotic arm module that can grab and move small obstacles like pinecones, branches, stones, toys, balls, and other objects out of the way, instead of simply navigating around them. The arm is mounted on a 25cm-high AWD chassis, and can fold down to just 44.5cm and extend up to 77cm, giving it a comfortable 1m reach to perform its tasks.

But it’s not just about moving things out of the way. Its gripping feature combines with precise control, so the Master X can even do things like grab onto a hose to water your plants, pick fruits and vegetables in your garden, or de-weed your flower beds. And once you have the pristine lawn and garden you’re looking for, you can then use the robot to play with your pets, like having it pick up a ball and throw it for your dog to chase.

These modules are interchangeable, so after a first pass with the multi-gripper to clear out the lawn properly, you can switch the module to a trimmer head or an edging disc head. The modules help trim the lawn accurately and provide complete edge-to-edge coverage, giving the lawn a professionally maintained look.

NexLawn’s modules are, of course, ground-breaking. But what makes it a must-have is the interchangeable nature. While there are a few modules available now, there’s plenty of room for new and innovative additions that can be used to provide a genuine hands-free and automated lawn and garden care experience. And since you can simply remove and attach these modules, you won’t have to worry about replacing the entire robot lawn mower to get new features.

NexLawn VIDAR Series: Compact and efficient robot lawn mower

The NexLawn VIDAR Series robot lawn mower is ideal for maintaining medium to large lawns under 0.5 acres (2000 square meters), and you won’t have to worry about installing perimeter wires, which is a difficult chore by itself, or even need a base station.

Instead, the VIDAR series features a technology called NexDetect™, which utilizes 3D LiDAR, stereo vision, and AI capabilities to map complex lawn layouts automatically with ease. Using the same AI smarts, the mower can detect more than 300 objects in real-time and avoid them, identify paths and use them properly, even if they are as narrow as 60cm, and handle 4cm bumps.

Of course, it’s an impressive lawn mower as well. A feature called NexTrim™ ensures edge-to-edge mowing with an uncut margin of less than 1cm, and an adjustable cutting height between 3-10cm to match different grass types. It can also comfortably handle slopes with a 50% grade, providing easy navigation over uneven terrain.

NexLawn VIDAR AWD Series – Powerful and precise

The NexLawn VIDAR AWD Series has everything the standard VIDAR series does, including NexDetect™ for complete and accurate lawn mapping and navigation, along with intelligent object detection for more than 300 items. It’s compatible with NexLawn’s grass collector attachment, allowing it to seamlessly collect grass clippings and leaves. But it also pushes everything a step further, taking your lawn maintenance to another level.

To start, the VIDAR AWD can cover a larger area of up to 0.74 acres (3,000 square meters). With its four-wheel drive power, off-road wheels, and a suspension system, the mower can cover slopes up to 80% and bumps and obstacles up to 6cm high.

VIDAR AWD pushes everything a step further, taking your lawn maintenance to another level.

It’s equipped with 40cm dual discs that can handle all grass types, from ryegrass and Bermuda to tall fescue. And the NexTrim™ feature minimizes uncut edges to just 1.5cm, so you don’t have to worry about any manual post-mowing touch-ups.

Using the NexLawn app, you have complete control over cutting height, mowing patterns, safe and forbidden zones, and location tracking. It also comes with a built-in pet-friendly mode, providing a safe, worry-free, and hands-free lawn care experience.

With its latest innovations, NexLawn pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in outdoor lawn care automation. From precise lawn care to multifunctional robotic assistance, each product showcases the brand’s ability to combine advanced technology with real-world utility.

In addition to Nexlawn’s innovative robotic mowers and groundbreaking concept products, MOVA is also showcasing an exceptional lineup of smart gardening and power tools at its booth, bringing new possibilities to everyday yard care.

The MOVA 60V Brushless Smart Outdoor Power Tool Series made a high-profile debut, including the GL620 47cm self-propelled lawn mower, the GC618 55cm chainsaw, and GB628 1700m³/h leaf blower. Featuring a high-torque outer rotor brushless motor, an intelligent battery management system, and IPX4 water resistance, the series blends advanced smart control with powerful performance. These tools not only deliver efficiency, comfort, and convenience for home gardening, but they’re also eco-friendly, quiet, and easy to clean and maintain. These are long-standing pain points of homeowners who have relied on traditional gasoline-powered tools.

Looking ahead, NexLawn will continue expanding its yard care portfolio. The VIDAR Series and VIDAR AWD Series are expected to officially launch in March 2026. At the same time, NexLawn is preparing to introduce a broader portfolio of smart tools and yard technologies, further enhancing its intelligent ecosystem for home gardening.
