A woman in southwest Georgia called into The Ramsey Show for help navigating overwhelming debt.

Financial expert Jade Warshaw and co-host Ken Coleman offered both practical advice and emotional support during the segment.

The caller, Sarah, explained that most of her income now goes toward a hefty $1,748 monthly mortgage at a 6.25% interest rate – an amount she called “off the chain.”

Sarah’s financial stress is compounded by past medical needs and therapy expenses.

“They do get Medicaid, thank goodness for that,” she said.

Beyond her mortgage, Sarah revealed about $6,100 in credit card debt, a rent-to-own furniture bill totaling $5,229, and $2,400 in payday loans.

“Those payday loans, those will suck the life out of you,” Warshaw said, urging her to make eliminating them a top priority.

“How do we get out of that?” she asked.

She advised Sarah to call the company and figure out a way out of the deal.

“I’d rather you just go over to Walmart and make it happen for $847 in one month.”

Despite the financial struggles, Warshaw and Coleman emphasized that emotional support was just as critical as financial guidance.

“You are running on fumes already,” Warshaw said.

“You’ve got to go somewhere and you’ve got to tell your story.

“People’s hearts will break with yours and you will get help.”

The hosts also offered Sarah a free session with one of their financial coaches to help her build a long-term plan.

“Our coach will help you come up with a game plan,” Coleman assured her.

“But you gotta go tell your story.”

Warshaw echoed the sentiment, praising Sarah’s courage.

“No shame in your game, Sarah,” Coleman said.

“You stepped up. No one’s judging you.”

The co-hosts closed the call by making sure the team would connect Sarah with local churches that could provide ongoing support.

“This doesn’t happen overnight,” Warshaw said.

“But if you find the right folks, it can.”
