Indra and Universia Foundation open the IX Call for Aid to Research in Accessible Technology

He Indra Group and the Universia Foundation They have opened the IX Call for Aid to Research Projects from Spanish Universities what they have As an end the creation of new accessible technologiess. It is an initiative that starts from the interest in promoting the development of solutions that improve both the quality of life and the social and labor inclusion of people with disabilities.

Research groups, and business centers and schools that are assigned to Spanish universities that are interested in participating in this edition of the Indra call and the Universia Foundation have in the deadline for the presentation of their projects on June 11, 2025. They can do so on this website.

As has happened in previous editions, the criteria that will be taken into account to select the best proposals are the impact, innovation, collaboration with entities specialized in disability and the possibility that the proposed product or service is Open Source and free, or reduced cost for end users.

Since its first edition, the contest has aroused interest from more than 150 universities research groups. In the previous call, each of the three winning proposals received aid of 24,000 euros. The first, Fast Babyit was presented by the University of Castilla La Mancha and is dedicated to improving mobility and game experience of children with disabilities through adaptive technologies.

The second is Lseavatara system that translates a Spanish oral language message to Spanish signs language through AI techniques, is developed by the University of La Rioja. Finally, Recovery It deals with the development of a virtual learning environment for people with recent motor injuries, and is also a creation of the University of Castilla La Mancha.

The winner of the Special call was Robotea-chatfrom the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, which received a help of 6,000 euros for research in social robots for rehabilitation in people with autistic spectrum transporters, for which they use neurobiofeedback technologies.
