Tonight, TMC broadcasts Avengers : Infinity Warlast step before the conclusion of the Infinite saga and the abandonment of Thanos as the big bad in favor of Kang then Victor Von Doom. Released in 2018 in theaters, the Russo brothers’ film celebrated a decade of superhero films under the aegis of Kevin Feige, with plenty of twists and turns and cute coincidences. Overview of the funniest anecdotes about the MCU and its heroes.

  • Iron Man was almost played by Nicolas Cage

If he is today the face of the Marvel cinematic universe, Robert Downey Jr almost never played the billionaire philanthropist. While the teams were working on the first opus of the adventures of Iron Man, which was to launch the MCU, they would have imagined Tom Cruise and Nicolas Cage in the title role. Luckily for us, Jon Favreau crossed paths with the actor and ultimately chose to hire him for the role. A good thing since the two actors were already associated with well-known licenses like Benjamin Gates and Mission Impossible. We needed new blood, and we got it.

  • A complicated dinner for the Avengers

This has to be one of our favorite post-credits scenes. After defeating Loki and his alien army, the team takes a well-deserved break. They meet in a restaurant to taste the famous Shawarma. We can see the whole fine team, but one of them is more discreet. Indeed, the scene having been filmed a little later, during the promotional tour, Chris Evans was growing his beard for the purposes of filming his next film: Snowpiercer. If the makeup teams managed to hide his hair, the result was not entirely perfect. The actor therefore did everything to hide the prosthesis and in particular by covering the lower part of his face with his hand.

  • Thor is a family affair

In the Hemsworth family, many of them have gravitated towards the MCU. If it’s Chris Hemsworth who Thor, one of his brothers also made a brief appearance. In Ragnarok, the actor who also plays in Westworldplays the god of thunder during a theater performance orchestrated by Loki. A detail that will undoubtedly not have escaped the most observant. What we didn’t know, however, is that Liam Hemsworth almost played Thor, instead of his brother. They both passed the casting.

  • Karen Gillian sacrificed her hair

It was undoubtedly the craziest happening at Comic Con 2013. During the panel for Guardians of the Galaxythe actress revealed that she shaved her head to be able to play the character of Nebula. A meager sacrifice to join the MCU according to the actress who addressed the issue not without humor during the event. She even threw her wig into the crowd before realizing her mistake. This was made from her own hair.

  • Tom Holland learned he was Spider-Man on Instagram

The little British no longer believed it. Tom Holland, who has played Spider-Man in the MCU since Civil War, learned that he was taken on… Instagram. After having passed several auditions, the actor had not received a response from the house of ideas. Six weeks after his last tryout, he discovered on the social network that he had been chosen. A few hours later, he received a call from Kevin Feige to tell him the news in person. He would have answered “I know Kevin, you posted it on Instagram” .

  • James Gunn made his brother play

If the name James Gunn rings a bell, Sean Gunn probably doesn’t. The actor, who made several appearances in the series Gilmore Girls, plays two characters in Guardians of the Galaxy. In addition to portraying Kraglin, one of the Ravagers and a member of Youndu’s crew, he also donned the motion picture costume for Rocket. If the character is dubbed by Bradley Cooper, the actor was never on set. Another notable fact about the Gunn brothers, they will also make a move to the competition with Suicide Squad. James will direct and Sean will be in front of the camera.

When Benedict Cumberbatch was chosen to play Doctor Strange, fans of the famous London detective were waiting for only one thing: to see two Sherlocks together on screen. Indeed, Robert Downey Jr and Benedict Cumberbatch both played him, respectively in the film by Guy Ritchie and in the series by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat. They were finally reunited for a first scene in Infinity War but the writers didn’t push it as far as making a direct reference to this meeting.

  • Several Community actors have passed through the MCU

What do the MCU and Community ? A priori, not much, and yet. Joe Russo, to whom we owe the latest Avengers, was the director of the NBC series. He took advantage of his involvement in the MCU to call on some of his former colleagues. Thus, many actors are entitled to a short appearance in several films. Donald Glover (Troy) for example plays a delinquent in Home-comingwhile Jim Rash (The Dean) is in Civil War. We also find Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley) and Ken Jeong (Senor Chang) in Avengers : Endgame.

  • Katherine Langford erased from tape

The actress, known for the series 13 reasons whywas to make an appearance in the latest Avengers film. She was supposed to play Tony’s daughter in a vision. But the directors ultimately decided that it didn’t add anything to the story and so simply removed it. As a result, her name does not appear in the credits, even though she had been announced in the casting for a long time.

Before facing the spider in Far From HomeJake Gyllenhall almost played him. The actor had to don the costume under the direction of Sam Raimi, while Tobey Macguire was injured.
