IT major Infosys has partnered with Swedish electric sports car brand Polestar to set up a dedicated technology centre in Bengaluru, India.
The hub will serve as a cornerstone for Polestar’s development of in-car infotainment, software and electrical engineering, user experience and digital cloud services.
Infosys will use its recent acquisition in the research and development sector, in-tech, to support the collaboration.
The Bengaluru hub is designed to become a centre of excellence for the development and validation of electric vehicle (EV) software across multiple areas, including infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems and telematics.
This initiative is also expected to enhance product management, customer engagement, business solutions and direct-to-consumer digital services through cloud-native development, testing and data engineering for Polestar.
Infosys noted that Polestar will be able to leverage its assets, such as engineering labs, a design studio and Infosys Living Labs, which will be deployed to drive innovation.
Sven Bauer, Head of Software at Polestar, said: “Polestar is starting a new chapter in the company’s global footprint with our partner Infosys in Bengaluru.
“We look forward to building out the automotive competence in the Polestar Tech Hub to support our growing vehicle portfolio and new model launches.”
Jasmeet Singh, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Manufacturing at Infosys, said, “Building on Infosys’ vast experience in automotive engineering, digital transformation and global delivery leadership, we aim to provide the infrastructure and innovation to co-create the next generation of electric vehicles.
“We will work closely with Polestar’s global design and development centers to set new standards in next-generation mobility.”
The collaboration with Polestar follows Infosys’ extensive collaboration with Posti, the Scandinavian provider of delivery and logistics services.
This collaboration focuses on improving customer experience and operational efficiency through an AI-driven approach, leveraging Infosys Topaz.
In a similar move, Infosys was chosen by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) earlier this month for a major digital transformation initiative.
“Infosys partners with Polestar for technology hub in India” was originally created and published by Verdict, a GlobalData brand.
