Antigravity, a brand incubated by Insta360 and partners, has released the A1, a 249-gram drone capable of 8K 360-degree recording through a dual-lens 1/1.28-inch system. The device adopts a headset-first design, pairing the drone with Vision goggles that mirror the pilot’s head movements in real time. It supports a “fly-first, frame-later” workflow that captures the full environment in one pass, enabling reframing and perspective changes in post-production.

The A1 introduces a point-to-fly control method using a Grip controller that translates hand movements into flight paths, reducing the learning curve compared with traditional dual-stick systems while retaining FPV mode for experienced pilots. Additional tools include Sky Path for automated and repeatable flight routes, Deep Track for subject locking, one-tap cinematic maneuvers through Sky Genie, and Virtual Cockpit visual overlays. The drone also features a payload detection system and user-replaceable lenses and propellers to support safer use and easier repairs.

The A1 went on sale on December 4, priced at $1,599 for the Standard bundle, $1,899 for the Explorer bundle, and $1,999 for the Infinity bundle. Each package includes the drone, Vision goggles, and the Grip controller, with different accessories and batteries depending on the configuration. [TechNode reporting]
