Google Discover will not only be limited to articles now, but it is becoming more engaging and versatile for users. The platform is getting a major upgrade and, hence, expanding to include social media posts and short-form videos. Earlier, the Discover was only focused on showing news articles and web content, but in the coming weeks, users will see updates from platforms like Instagram, X (Formerly Twitter), and YouTube Shorts.

Discover Will Show More Types of Content

Google Discover is getting an upgrade, and now it will bring articles, videos, and social media updates together in one convenient place. In its blog post, the company revealed that users enjoy seeing a diverse mix of content, not just written articles.

Google Discover is now focusing on offering richer and dynamic content to users by integrating posts from popular social media platforms. Whether it’s the latest viral video, trending tweet, or a popular Instagram post, everything will not be accessible from a single feed.

Follow Your Favorite Creators and Publishers

Another exciting feature that’s coming to Google Discover is the ability to follow preferred publishers and creators directly from Discover. Users will now be able to preview the content shared by creators, including articles, YouTube videos, and social media posts, before deciding to follow them. As soon as you follow them, Discover will highlight more content from those sources. It means the platform will personalize the feed based on your interests.

It requires your Google Account login and aims to make content discovery more intuitive and relevant.

Helping Publishers and Creators Connect

The tech giant emphasized in its blog post that these features are not launched only for the users, but also will be helpful for creators and their audience. It will help to strengthen the connection between the two.

Publishers and content creators can now reach their followers more effectively, leveraging Discover as a platform for engagement. Google has already introduced features like choosing preferred news sources in Top Stories, and this latest enhancement builds on that effort by integrating multiple content types in one place.
