The European cloud supplier Ionos has expanded its product portfolio With an additional CPU architecture thanks to the Dedicated Servers Ampere Altra with ARM -based processors. These servers are already available at the Berlin and Worcester headquarters of the company, and allow customers to choose between two configurations: the ARM 96-128 server or ARM 96-256.

Thanks to their architecture, ampere servers based on chip ARM offer high performance with lower energy consumption compared to X86 chips. They can be used as occupied web servers, application servers for demanding tasks, microservices, AI solutions or Big Data analysis.

While Intel and AMD chips offered so far are based on CISC technology (complex install computer), ARM -based chips use RISC technology (reduced Instruction Set Computing). They also use single -thread nuclei, which increase the performance and speed of execution of instructions with respect to CISC technology. They are designed to efficiently execute a reduced number of simple and frequently used instructions.

Until now, RISC processors had so far used especially on mobile devices due to their high energy efficiency. But more and more are incorporated into data centers servers. In the case of ion, it offers two server options, which differ in ram memory and storage space (always in NVME units).

The first, ARM96-128, has a 96-core CPU, 128 GB of RAM and 2 NVME units of 1920 GB. It has a Price of 221 euros + VAT per month for two years. The second option offers servers is the ARM96-256, also with CPU of 96 cores, but with double RAM (256 GB) and with two NVME units of 3840 GB capacity. Its price will be 272 euros more VAT per month for 24 months.

Patrick Schaudel, vice president of ion productshe pointed out that «The rapid development of artificial intelligence has enormous potential, but also raises great demands on IT infrastructure. With the CPU Altra Ampere, we offer our clients a sustainable, energetically efficient and scalable solution, perfectly adapted to modern workloads of AI and Big Data. In this way, we expand our server portfolio with a powerful and vision of the future, and we remain decidedly our innovation strategy«.

From AMPERE, JEFF WITTICH, Company Product Directorrecalled that «Ampere is committed to innovation and sustainability, providing avant -garde technologies that allow companies to grow efficiently and responsible. With the availability of ion ampere servers, we offer energetically efficient cloud solutions and adapted to the changing needs of our European clients«.
