Apple and Google are gearing up to launch their respective flagship phones soon — the iPhone 17 and the Google Pixel 10. The early leaks are giving us a taste of what could be coming. The Pixel 10 is all set to launch on 20th August within a week, while the iPhone 17 is expected to launch next month, possibly in the second week. If we believe the leaks, both are rumoured to start around $799, making them direct rivals in the compact flagship segment.
So, what are these flagship models expected to bring to the table? Know all the expected differences between the iPhone 17 and the Pixel 10 that you can expect.
iPhone 17 vs Google Pixel 10: Design and Build
Leaks suggest the iPhone 17 might be slimmer and lighter than its recent predecessors, possibly just 7.2mm thick and weighing around 162 grams. The Pixel 10, on the other hand, is expected to be slightly bulkier but could use that extra space for a larger battery and built-in Qi2 magnetic charging support. Rumours also point to Google launching its own “Pixelsnap” magnetic accessories, like stands and chargers.
Both phones are likely to retain IP68 water and dust resistance, USB-C ports, and, no charger in the box.
iPhone 17 vs Google Pixel 10: Display
Both models are expected to feature 120Hz OLED screens, but the Pixel 10 could take the lead on brightness, possibly hitting up to 2,700 nits, compared to the iPhone 17’s rumoured 2,000 nits. Apple may focus on slimmer bezels, while Google reportedly aims to improve flicker control for eye comfort.
Biometric options may differ: the iPhone 17 will likely stick with Face ID, while the Pixel 10 could upgrade to an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
iPhone 17 vs Google Pixel 10: Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Pixel 10 is tipped to be powered by the Tensor G5 chip, said to be built on TSMC’s 3nm process. On the other hand, the iPhone 17 is expected to bring Apple’s A19 chip, also on a 3nm process. On the software side, the iPhone 17 is expected to launch with iOS 18, while the Pixel 10 should arrive with Android 16, possibly featuring a new “Pixel Sense” AI assistant. Both are rumoured to offer at least seven years of updates.
iPhone 17 vs Google Pixel 10: Cameras
Camera leaks suggest Apple will stick with two rear sensors — a 48MP main and 12MP ultrawide, but could upgrade the selfie camera to 24MP. The Pixel 10 might get a triple rear setup, headlined by a 50MP main, 13MP ultrawide, and an 11MP telephoto with 5x zoom. AI-powered editing tools like “Speak-to-Tweak” could also be added.
iPhone 17 vs Google Pixel 10: Battery and Charging
Battery rumours indicate the Pixel 10 could house a 4,970mAh cell, significantly larger than the iPhone 17’s expected ~3,600mAh. Both might support the Qi2 standard for faster magnetic charging, but Google’s rumoured Pixelsnap accessory line could give it an edge in usability.
What To Expect?
With both phones yet to launch, these details remain speculative, but if the leaks hold true, the Pixel 10 could offer more in battery life, camera variety, and magnetic charging accessories. The iPhone 17 may still lead in raw performance and iOS ecosystem perks.
How exactly will they differ? We will know after the launch only.
