'It: Welcome to Derry' Release Schedule: When to Watch the Season Finale

The first season of It: Welcome to Derry is reaching its end. The initial run of the Stephen King spinoff series successfully brought Pennywise the Dancing Clown, the iconic villain he initially brought to life in his iconic novel nearly four decades ago, to television. Now, the finale episode is upon us.

Multiple adaptations of King’s novel have found his infamous clown scaring audiences. However, It: Welcome to Derry is the first iteration to be presented in an episodic format. It’s also the first that has dialed the story back to the past, showing how the troubled town of Derry, Maine, deals with this curse of fear and violence in the year 1962.

According to King lore, Pennywise returns to wreak havoc every 27 years. If the show follows the three-season plan laid out by co-creator Andy Muschietti, seasons 2 and 3 will travel further back into the past to the years 1935 and even 1908.

Muschietti co-created the horror series with Jason Fuchs and his sister, Barbara Muschietti — the siblings brought 2017’s It to the big screen, as well as the sequel that followed two years later.

Bill Skarsgård reprises his role as Pennywise in the series. Also starring are Jovan Adepo, Clara Stack, Chris Chalk, Taylour Paige, James Remar, Rudy Mancuso, Jack Molloy Legault, Mikkal Karim Fidler, Stephen Rider and Madeleine Stowe.

Max

You’ll need a monthly or annual subscription to HBO Max if you want to watch It: Welcome to Derry. The ad-based plan is now $11 a month, and its ad-free subscriptions are $18.50 (Standard) and $23 (Premium). If you’re looking for extra value, I suggest checking out the Max, Hulu and Disney Plus megabundle, but the price has increased for both bundle offerings as well.

How to watch It: Welcome to Derry with a VPN

If you’re traveling abroad and want to keep up with your favorite shows while away from home, a VPN can help enhance your privacy and security when streaming. It encrypts your traffic and prevents your internet service provider from throttling your speeds and can also be helpful when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks while traveling, adding an extra layer of protection for your devices and logins.

VPNs are legal in many countries, including the US and Canada, and can be used for legitimate purposes such as improving online privacy and security. However, some streaming services may have policies restricting VPN use to access region-specific content. If you’re considering a VPN for streaming, check the platform’s terms of service to ensure compliance.

If you choose to use a VPN, follow the provider’s installation instructions, ensuring you’re connected securely and in compliance with applicable laws and service agreements. Some streaming platforms may block access when a VPN is detected, so verifying if your streaming subscription allows VPN use is crucial.
