As one might expect, this spotlight on the DCU’s first cinematographic project has borne fruit. The praise is numerous, the public is impatient at the idea of laying eyes on this film which will obviously not be an origin story. Warner Bros. can rest assured, the son of Krypton continues to fascinate the crowds.

In 2019, the trailer Avengers : Endgame displayed 289 million views on platforms less than 24 hours after its release. Here too, fans were in turmoil before discovering the conclusion of the Infinity saga that began in 2008 with Iron Man. While it is still too early to speculate on the commercial success of Superman, and see if it will manage to join the pantheon of the most profitable films in the history of the 7th art, it is clear that the superhero’s journey begins under the best auspices. As a reminder, Avengers : Endgame ended its run in theaters with more than $2.7 billion at the worldwide box office. It is quite unlikely that Superman does as well, but the film could be one of the hits of the summer.
