Within This Week in Plasma, KDE developer Nate Graham notes the great excitement in KDE bug fixing this week/ KDE developers have lowered their HI/VHI priority bug counts down to “their lowest numbers ever numbers” in addition to working on new Plasma 6.4 features over the past few days.
This Week in Plasma is quite exciting with many bug fixes having landed, including fixing some of the most common crashes caused by the KWin compositor. Plus new performance work in Plasma 6.4 and more. Some of this week’s highlights include:
– KWin’s “Fade Desktop” virtual desktop switching effect now has a customizable duration.
– Plasma 6.3.4 fixes the “most common” Plasma crash. This crash could occur when unplugging screens and was considered a VHI priority bug. There are also fixes for two other common KWin crashes.
– “Massively” improved performance when making screen recordings using Spectacle in the VP9 video format.
– Plasma 6.4 adds support for the wp_fifo_v1 Wayland protocol.
– With Plasma 6.4 there is also support coming for the XDG Desktop portal clipboard portal.
