KEHLANI has hit back at the ‘most heartbreaking thing ever’ after her ex accused her of saying their daughter was ‘her wife in a previous life’.
The 29-year-old took to Instagram to set the record straight and share her side of the story.
Kehlani and her ex Javaughn Young-White, who started dating in 2018, welcomed their daughter Adeya a year later.
The pair split shortly after the youngster was born and have been co-parenting ever since.
But in August this year Javaughn filed for full custody of Adeya, five, after alleging that she is part of a “cult”.
Other court documents showed text messages between the parents, where she labels her daughter her ‘wife from a previous life’ – and she took to Instagram to share that it shouldn’t have been taken seriously.
Kehlani said: “As a person that has always gotten little readings here and there, I was connected to an older woman for a ‘past life’ reading.
“I shared what I considered a lighthearted recap with my child’s father, laughing at it and considering it something light and not to be taken serious.
“To have those screenshots then doctored, the rest of the messages left out, to make me seem like I consider myself to be in an inappropriate relationship with my DAUGHTER.. is the most heart thing I’ve ever f***ing heard.
“I’ve been silent, I’ve taken the public beating.
“I’ve been addressing all of these things where I should, in COURT.
“I’ve sat there and watched the public only have access to ONE SIDE of things but THIS is where I absolutely draw the line.
“I do NOT and have NEVER considered myself in any sort of inappropriate relationship with my child.
“The rest of these absolutely monstrous allegations are being addressed in court.”
Kehlani shared the alleged text messages, which saw Javaughn ask : “What area of the world did this past life person say Adeya is from?”
She replied: “South amurrrica she was my wife once lol.”
Kehlani added in the caption: “A lighthearted conversation with who i consider family about a silly reading i got became horribly twisted and i can’t stand by and watch it anymore.
“Here’s how the conversation actually went and the rest is left for court.
“This is beyond.
“Can’t be silent about this issue anymore.”
Back in August the singer took to Instagram to deny being part of a cult – which her ex has accused her of being in.
She said: “I strongly deny any claims that I have put my child in harm’s way, or left my child alone with anyone deemed dangerous or unsafe.
“I also do not align with any of the allegations made against my former religious community that have been stated in the media.”
Kehlani shot to fame in 2011 as part of PopLyf.
Over the years she’s released four albums, headlined three tours and supported Demi Lovato and Halsey.
The star, who boasts 15.9m followers on Instagram, won Rulebreaker Award at the Billboard Music awards in 2017.
Javaughn is a guitarist and brother of Jaboukie Young-White.
