Earlier this month, Apple confirmed its blockbuster $2 billion acquisition of the mysterious AI startup Q.ai. In addition to that deal, Apple also recently acquired a database company called Kuzu. Here’s an in-depth list of recent acquisitions made by Apple.

Kuzu’s LinkedIn page describes the company as an “embedded graph database built for query speed, scalability, and ease of use.” For full context, Apple has its own cross-platform relational database system called FileMaker, operated by its subsidiary Claris.

The Kuzu acquisition, which was first spotted by AppleInsider, occurred in October. Kuzu has scrubbed most of its online presence, which is common when a company is acquired by Apple.

It’s unclear how much Apple paid for the company, but it was likely a relatively small deal. Still, it was large enough to trigger the European Union to add it to its list acquisitions.

Pursuant to the Digital Markets Act, so-called “gatekeepers” are required to report acquisitions above a certain size to the EU.

The webpage on the EU’s website is actually quite interesting. It’s useful to see all of Apple’s reported acquisitions listed in one place.

For example, here is a rundown of all the qualifying acquisitions Apple made in 2025:

  • October 10, Kuzu: Develops a lightweight embedded database technologies.
  • August 19, Styra: Develops and licenses authorization software for cloud-native environments.
  • May 28, IC Mask Design: Provides physical layout design services for analog integrated circuits and related training courses.
  • February 11, Pixelmator: Image editing and design software for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro.
  • January 24, TrueMeeting: Development of digital avatar technology.
  • January 24, WhyLabs: Develops and operates tools to monitor and analyze machine learning models and data pipelines.
  • January 3, Pointable: Develops enterprise-grade natural language retrieval systems to create custom large language model applications.

The page is updated on a rolling basis, and new acquisitions are added “not earlier than four months after receipt of the information.” Again, it’s likely Apple made additional acquisitions beyond the ones listed here.
