Technology asset intelligence company Lansweeper NV announced today that it has acquired Redjack Inc., an asset discovery company, for an undisclosed price.
Founded in 2007, Redjack specializes in passive asset discovery, a method of identifying devices and systems on a network by analyzing network traffic without actively scanning or installing agents. The company’s platform employs lightweight sensors that monitor network traffic across on-premises, cloud, container and edge environments to capture communication flows in real time.
The company’s platform allows users to identify every asset that interacts with the network, whether managed, unmanaged, known, unknown or transient to provide a complete and continuous view of an organization’s digital estate.
The platform also excels in automated application and dependency mapping, revealing how devices and systems interact, surfacing critical interdependencies, shadow IT and potential single points of failure, by analyzing communication patterns. The ability to do so is essential for organizations looking to understand the true structure of their digital infrastructure and to build resilience into their business operations.
Redjack platform also assigns business criticality and resilience scores to assets and services. The scores are based on real-world indicators such as redundancy, network isolation and external exposure, to help organizations assess which assets are vital and how well protected they are.
The acquisition will allow Lansweeper to broaden its reach across enterprise, cloud and edge environments, boosting the company’s capabilities in attack surface management, business continuity planning and third-party risk management.
“With Redjack on our side, we can now promise total visibility for our customers, the most crucial step in any cybersecurity strategy. After all, you can’t secure what you don’t see,” said Lansweeper Chief Executive Dave Goossens. “Together, we will pair Redjack’s unparalleled network-level discovery and application dependency mapping with Lansweeper’s rich asset intelligence to help organizations to be more secure and productive.”
The company said integration of RedJack’s platform will accelerate Lansweeper’s product roadmap, enhancing coverage of unmanaged and transient assets. Existing Redjack customers will also gain richer asset intelligence data post-acquisition.
It’s not clear from public records how much Redjack may have raised previously from investors, but records indicate that Three Kings Capital is an investor in the company.
Lansweeper, on the other hand, is strongly venture capital-backed, having raised $159 million in funding from investors including Insight Partners LP, Shea & Co., Allen & Overy LLP and Dovesco Inc.
