vivo has finally confirmed the global rollout of its new Android 16-based OriginOS 6. The OS will first be unveiled in China on October 10, 2025, followed by its global debut-including India – on October 15. For Indian users, vivo and iQOO have already announced a Preview Program for OriginOS 6. Registrations will open on September 29, though details about the sign-up process and eligible devices are still under wraps. From the hints shared online, it looks like vivo will first make the preview available for its X Series phones. For iQOO users, the iQOO 13 will be the first model to get access. news Also Read: iQOO Neo 11 Pro Cancelled? iQOO Neo 11 Is Still In The Line To Launch Along With iQOO 15: All Details

OriginOS 6: Key Features to Expect

OriginOS 6 is designed around what Vivo calls “Comfort Engineering,” which aims to create a smoother and more natural experience. Based on the teasers, the revamped lock screen may get a design makeover with:

  • Transparent design and layered effects using real-time rendering.
  • Smart digital clock that adapts to lighting conditions.
  • A new transparent colour palette that blends better with wallpapers.
  • On the feature front, some highlights include:
  • AI Eraser upgrades that work on Live Photos, helping remove unwanted objects or people in the background.
  • AI lighting effects to enhance photos and videos.
  • A new shake-to-group sharing option, which extends the current one-to-one sharing into group sharing with a quick shake gesture.

OriginOS 6: Eligible Devices

The Vivo X300 series and iQOO 15 will be the first devices to launch with OriginOS 6 pre-installed in China this October, several reports suggested. These models are also expected to bring the OS to global markets, including India, later this year.

While the initial rollout will be limited to select devices, we can expect more clarity on the full list of supported smartphones after the global launch. Until then, Indian users eager to try OriginOS 6 can look out for the preview registration opening on September 29.
