The event will begin on January 7, but leaks already provide an overview of some new features. Aficionados of machines of this type will have every interest in turning their attention to Lenovo, which plans to present three new products.
Leaker Evan Blass has lifted the veil on a new Lenovo Legion Go model which is sure to delight the most demanding gamers. Larger screen, OLED panel, new AMD Z2 Extreme chip… The rumors in the corridors are the stuff of dreams but we will have to wait until early January 2025 to discover the precise technical characteristics of this console.
However, it is the new Lenovo Legion Go S that is getting the most talk ahead of CES. This compact model could establish itself as the ideal companion for nomadic gamers.
A serious competitor to Valve’s Steam Deck
Cheaper, smaller but also easier to use, the Lenovo Legion Go S promises to be a perfect alternative to the Valve console. Leaks have not spared this product, the smallest details of which have already been revealed. To reduce costs and convince players looking for simplicity, this machine abandons the detachable joy-cons style controllers for a single block design, evocative of the Steam Deck.
The Legion Go S should feature a new AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor, made up of an eight-core Zen 3 CPU and a Radeon 800M RDNA 2 GPU. Buyers will however be able to choose the size of the internet storage and RAM, with a 512GB or 1TB NVMe Gen 4 SSD, and 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X Ram.
The screen will be made up of an 8-inch 1920×1200 LED panel, with a refresh rate of 120hz. Leakers estimate the entry-level Price of this machine at around €600, a price very close to that of the Steam Deck. The comparison with Valve’s console does not stop there, since it It seems that the Lenovo Legion Go S is the first third-party platform to offer a model under Steam OS. Depending on their needs and desires, players can therefore opt for the stability of Valve’s operating system, in favor of Windows 11 which is not yet suitable for this type of PC.
See you from January 7 to 11, 2025 to find out what Lenovo and other manufacturers are preparing in terms of innovation for PC consoles.
