Called “AI Work Companion Concept”, the device adopts a friendly silhouette which immediately evokes a desk clock. The analogy ends there. Behind the screen, Lenovo injects a good dose of artificial intelligence to structure the working day.
The conductor for the working day
Once synchronized with the user’s various devices, the box displays the schedule, appointments and current tasks. The interface, called “Thought Bubble”, centralizes information from the PC and other connected terminals to “ visualize what matters, adjust your schedule and stay on track », Explains the manufacturer. The objective is to offer the user a summary view of priorities, without multiplying windows on the computer.
The device is not limited to organization. It also monitors screen time and suggests breaks, to help ” maintain a more sustainable pace over time “. At the end of the day, then at the end of the week, a report details the tasks accomplished. A way to close the weekly chapter with an overview of the work carried out. Lenovo also emphasizes a lighter dimension: the interface offers fun animations and interactions to liven up the day. The dial is customizable and can display additional information, such as the battery level of a connected laptop or the time remaining until it is fully charged.
A large red button sits at the top of the case. Lenovo indicates that it is customizable, without specifying the possible uses. On the right, another configurable button completes the set. The idea is to adapt the operation of the device to individual habits. A quick actions menu is present on the screen, with application icons such as calculator, email or ChatGPT, as well as a button to mute the microphone. The device thus becomes a miniature control center placed next to the keyboard.
Beyond AI, the AI Work Companion Concept also presents itself as a hub for the office. On the back, there are two HDMI ports for connecting two displays, two USB-A ports (7.5 W maximum), two USB-C ports (7.5 W), as well as an Ethernet port. A 100 W retractable cable allows direct connection to a PC. On the right side, a 20 W USB-C port, an additional USB-A port and an audio jack complete the connectivity. Power comes through an IEC C7 connector.
Unfortunately, Lenovo has given no indication of a possible commercialization. The product remains at the concept stage. But it could inspire other manufacturers looking for ideas for hybrid devices combining productivity and AI assistance.
