It’s no secret that subscribing to multiple streaming platforms can quickly add up, which is why free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels are a welcome antidote.

Found within LG TVs, LG Channels provides users with access to live and on-demand content across plenty of genres, all for free.

We explain everything you need to know about LG Channels, including how to access the service, which channels are included and whether the service really is free.

What are LG Channels?

LG Channels is a FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) streaming service that was created in partnership with Xumo, a US-based platform.

Found on LG televisions, LG Channels offers free access to over 4000 live and on-demand channels globally, although the exact number will vary depending on your exact location.

There’s a wide variety of genres available, from kids and comedies to news and sports, plus movie channels too. LG Channel also benefits from various partnerships which helps widen the variety of its content. These partnerships include Lionsgate UK which offers exclusive shows such as Wong & Winchester, to BBC Studios which gives users access to the likes of Bargain Hunt, Britbox Mysteries and more.

Otherwise, you can find plenty of live FAST channels such as GB News alongside on-demand favourites including Grace & Frankie, Nashville, Ghost Hunters and many more.

Although access to LG Channels is free, you can expect to see various advertisements both during and at either side of the programme or movie. Unlike other streaming platforms such as Disney Plus and Netflix, LG Channels doesn’t have a paid-for, ad-free subscription option and instead funds its platform through advertising, much like Tubi.

Is LG Channels free?

Yes, LG Channels is completely free to access and doesn’t require users to input their card details nor splurge on any additional equipment, other than their compatible LG TV. Keep in mind that the reason LG Channels can be free is thanks to its support for adverts, so you will see ads during your viewing.

How to access LG Channels?

LG Channels is accessible through webOS, which powers compatible LG TVs made from 2016 to now.
