LG has unveiled a new range of 5K gaming monitors with a new OLED, MiniLED tech with AI upscaling tech and an 5K2K ultra-wide thrown in for good measure.

Ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, LG has revealed the UltraGear evo gaming monitors that promises to relieve gamers of the graphics card arms race that’s impacting supply and wallets. It’ll do this by taking on much of the upscaling on the device, at least from a pure resolution standpoint, enabling gamers to enjoy more content in 5K. Crucially, LG says, it might enable gamers to swerve the occasional GPU upgrade altogether.

“This proprietary technology powers the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling technology,” LG says in a media release. “This technology achieves stunning 5K-class clarity without the burden of GPU upgrades and allows gamers to enjoy a wider range of content in high definition – transcending original resolution limits.”

The headliner is the 39-Inch 5K2K OLED with a 1500R-curved 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio. You’ll be able to access a 165Hz refresh rate at full resolution, while there’s a speedy 0.03ms response time. The pixel density also sits pretty at 142 pixels-per-inch.

Next up and also boasting the AI Upscaling tech is the world’s first 5K MiniLED monitor GM9 (27GM950B), which LG says “solves blooming”.

The 27-inch display has been designed to “dramatically improve blooming control. By effectively minimising halo effects that commonly affect high-resolution MiniLED displays, the monitor delivers professional grade 5K precision with exceptional optical clarity.”

Finally, there’s the world’s largest 5K2K 240Hz monitor. The 52-inch G9 (52G930B) promises the lightning fast refresh rate from the 1000R curved display. These are premium monitors likely to carry a premium price tag. We’ll learn more at CES 2026, which gets started on January 6.
