The beta release of Linux Mint 22.2 “Zara” is now available for testing of this popular desktop Linux distribution built atop an Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base.

Linux Mint 22.2 features more of its applications now compatible with Wayland, UI enhancements like new artwork to more rounded corners to an enhanced login screen, Fingwit as a new app for handling fingerprint authentication, improved compatibility with libadwaita, and other enhancements.

Linux Mint 22.2 continues making use of the Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base but at least now has moved to the Linux 6.14 HWE kernel for better hardware support.
