Google has set its annual “Made By Google” event for Aug. 20 in New York, where we expect to see the next generation of its Pixel phones and products.
To provide some shape for the story, Google released a few promotional videos ahead of the event, which tease the Google Pixel 10 series’ arrival with the tagline, “Ask more of your phone.”
We’re ready to ask. Are you? Here is everything we know about Made By Google.
Made By Google: How to Watch
Google’s event will take place at the company’s New York office starting at 1 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Aug. 20. The company’s invitation reads, “You’re invited to (a) Made by Google show where we will introduce the latest additions to our Pixel portfolio of devices.”
If you didn’t score an invite, Google will stream the event on its Made By Google YouTube channel (embedded above). You can also sign up to receive updates via email.
After Wednesday’s event, ‘s Bridget Carey, PCMag’s Iyaz Akhtar, and their fellow editors from and Mashable will break down everything unveiled by Google. Join us for the live broadcast on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 9:30 a.m. PT (12:30 p.m. ET).
Pixel 10: Official Peek
As it did in 2024 with the Pixel 9, Google is sporadically dropping teasers to build excitement ahead of the Aug. 20 event.
In the promo videos, we see a gray Pixel 10 phone from the back. It closely resembles the Pixel 9 Pro in terms of design, with three rear cameras in its camera bump and a sensor below its flash, located in the same spot as the Pixel 9 Pro’s thermometer. The phone’s frame is polished metal, like a 9 Pro model. The teaser doesn’t distinguish between the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, though the text implies the device is the base model.
Apart from the visuals, an unseen narrator makes thinly veiled digs at Apple Intelligence while challenging the viewer to change their phone.
Apple’s AI has generated lawsuits because some believe the company overstated abilities that it has yet to deliver. Google’s AI implementation via Google Gemini is a comparative success, so the company will likely promote Pixel-exclusive AI features at the event.

Pixel Details: Unofficial Info
A reliable leaker, Roland Quandt, claims Google will release four phones: a Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. This directly mirrors the company’s Pixel 9 series. Google itself may have leaked its lineup via the Play Store, according to another report. The phones briefly appeared there and all four bore a striking resemblance to the Pixel 9 devices.

In one of the more interesting potential updates, Google might join Apple by adding magnets to the Pixel 10 line. Pictures from noted leaker Evan Blass show a blue Pixel 10 with a MagSafe-like attachment that could be called “Pixelsnap.” The Qi2 wireless standard includes magnetic technology inspired by MagSafe, so Google is free to make MagSafe-like products for its Pixel phones.

Of course, it goes without saying that we’ll see spec bumps across the board. Primarily, that means a next-generation Tensor G5 processor, revised camera modules, upgraded memory and storage, and plenty of Gemini AI.
We’re seeing more reports about the Pixel Watch 4 ahead of the event. Google’s next smartwatch is expected to share the same circular look as its predecessors, though it may change how it charges. The Pixel Watch 3 uses a disc-shaped charger that magnetically attaches to the back of the watch. The Pixel Watch 4 could move its charging contacts to the left side of the watch, opposite the crown. This could make Pixel Watch 2 and 3 chargers incompatible with Watch 4, unfortunately, though it would allow the Watch 4 to charge in a semi-standing position, which might allow it to offer a bedside mode.
Pixel Buds 2a: Minor Refresh
Google’s budget A-series earbuds could get a long-awaited refresh. One report puts the Google Pixel Buds 2a at the event in new colors, including Iris (lavender), like the Pixel 9a. Otherwise, not much information is known about the potential new earphones. You can bet Google will bake Gemini into their functionality in some way.

Everything Else: Smart Glasses and Home?
Google’s smart home devices are aching for a refresh. The Nest Audio speakers haven’t been upgraded since 2020, while the Nest Hub (2nd Generation) arrived in 2021. Google Assistant is also floundering, with many users complaining about broken features. This garnered an apology from Google’s Chief Product Officer for Home and Nest, who said that improvements are coming in the fall. Perhaps we will get a glimpse of Google’s new vision of the smart home of the future at its Pixel event.
Mixed reality headsets could also make an appearance. Google and Samsung have already teased such products multiple times at past events, so we may finally get a better look at them.
Whatever comes from Google’s Aug. 20 Made By Google event, we’ll have it covered. In the meantime, find out more about the latest device from Google, the Pixel 9a.
