MediaTek released its financial results for the second quarter of 2025 today, reporting revenue of NT$150.369 billion ($4.66 billion). This represents a 1.9% decline quarter-on-quarter, but an 18.1% increase compared to the same period last year. The company said the sequential revenue decrease was mainly due to unfavorable exchange rate factors, while the year-on-year growth was driven by rising market demand for edge AI chips and higher-speed networking chips. MediaTek is increasingly focused on the high-value market of AI ASICs (application specific integrated circuits), according to the company. [MediaTek]
