So let’s start! Tell us a bit about yourself. For example, name, profession, and personal interests.

My name is Igboanugo David Ugochukwu, but I write under the name Drechimyn. I’m a cybersecurity and AI-focused content writer, passionate about breaking down complex technology into clear, engaging narratives that drive thought leadership and business value. Beyond writing, I’m deeply interested in digital transformation, emerging tech, and helping startups stand out. In my free time, I enjoy long walks, listening to Afrobeats, and exploring how psychology intersects with technology.

Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top Story about?

My latest top story, “The Trust Paradox: Why AI Systems Are Only As Secure As the APIs Behind Them”, explored how API vulnerabilities are fast becoming the hidden threat behind AI’s growing power—and why most organizations are still blind to the scale of the risk.

Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?

Yes, I often write at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI, and cloud infrastructure. My focus is on exposing overlooked security risks, explaining emerging tech, and offering solutions in a way that resonates with both technical and executive audiences.

Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)

I usually write late at night or early in the morning when everything’s quiet. I spend a lot of time researching first—scouring documentation, reading threat reports, and checking out new tools—before outlining and then writing in focused sprints.

Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?

Balancing deep technical accuracy with clarity. I want my content to be precise enough for engineers but accessible enough for decision-makers. It’s a tightrope walk, but I love it.

What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?

I’m working toward establishing myself as a go-to cybersecurity content strategist for AI and cloud-native startups. I’d also love to create a content studio that helps early-stage tech companies craft thought leadership that actually converts.

Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?

Watching dystopian sci-fi series and obsessing over plot theories—especially shows like Black Mirror and Mr. Robot.

Yes, I train and care for working-line German Shepherds. I’m fascinated by their intelligence and loyalty. They keep me grounded.

You can expect more pieces exploring emerging threats around synthetic identities, agent-based automation, and AI-powered infrastructure exploits—basically, where tomorrow’s cybersecurity risks are quietly forming today.

What’s your opinion on HackerNoon as a platform for writers?

HackerNoon is one of the rare platforms that gives technical writers true creative freedom while providing real exposure to readers who care. It’s a place where original thinking stands out—and gets rewarded.
