With the newest Mesa 25.1-devel Git code merged today the Panfrost Gallium3D and PanVK Vulkan drivers for Arm Mali open-source graphics are supporting Mali 5th Gen gen 1 (v12) and gen 2 (v13) devices.

This newer Arm Mali hardware support gets the Mesa drivers working for the likes of the Mali G720 and G725 graphics, similar to the existing supported G620 and with similar Vulkan conformance test suite coverage.

The Mali G720 graphics were introduced back in 2023 while the Mali G725 is from mid-2024. See this Mesa merge request for those interested in this newer Arm graphics support from the Mali 5th Gen series.

It was also announced yesterday by Collabora that the PanVK driver is considered Vulkan 1.1 conformant for the Mali G610 GPU. They are still working on supporting newer versions of the Vulkan API with Mali graphics hardware going back to Bifrost being capable of Vulkan 1.3/1.4.
