Eric Engestrom with Igalia continues doing a superb job managing the Mesa releases with today bringing the timely Mesa 25.1-rc3 release candidate as well as the new Mesa 25.0.5 stable point release.

Mesa 25.0.5 brings a wide variety of fixes for the past two weeks. There are a number of Intel and AMD driver fixes, enabling of VK_EXT_direct_mode_display support for the PanVK driver for Arm Mali hardware, RADV only enabling DCC for invisible vRAM on GFX12 (RDNA4), a workaround the the WWE 2023 game under Steam Play, and other random small fixes.

Mesa 25.1-rc3 brings some of the same fixes back-ported from Mesa 25.2-devel that are found in Mesa 25.0.5 like the WWE 2023 fix for RADV and VK_EXT_direct_mode_display for PanVK. Plus it backports the Vulkan 1.2 support for PanVK with Arm Mali v10+ hardware. And other small fixes since last week’s Mesa 25.1-rc2.

Mesa 25.1 stable should be out in the next few weeks depending upon when the release is deemed ready for debut and without any blocker bugs. At the moment there is just one ongoing blocker around the Asahi driver code and Mesa 25.1-rc4 is scheduled for next Wednesday.
