Years after Meta first partnered with Microsoft to launch the Xbox app on the Quest series, you can now nab an Xbox Edition of the Meta Quest 3s.
Sporting Xbox’s signature Carbon Black finish with Velocity Green accents, the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is an slick VR headset that’s a welcome change from the clinical white of the standard editions.
Meta also includes matching Touch Plus controllers, for a “fully colour-coordinated” setup, alongside an Xbox Wireless Controller which comes pre-paired with the headset. Plus, as you can expect, it shares the same iconic colourway as the rest of the series.
That’s not where the bundle’s contents end. Alongside a Carbon Black Elite Strap for extra comfort during prolonged gaming periods, you’ll also benefit from three months of Meta Horizon Plus and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate too.
Speaking of Game Pass Ultimate, firstly if you’re already a member then don’t worry you’ll still benefit from three months free with this bundle. Next, load up the Xbox app and you can play hundreds of Xbox games, including day-one releases across four different display sizes (up to 26 feet) for an Xbox experience like never before.
Want to play with a friend who doesn’t have a Quest 3s? Fortunately you can enjoy multiplayer cross-platform with players using an Xbox console instead.
The Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is available now through Meta’s official website, Best Buy, Argos and EE with a starting RRP of $399.99/£379. If you’re even slightly tempted then we’d recommend acting fast, as Meta warns “once it’s gone, it’s gone”.
Opinion
If you’ve recently treated yourself to a Meta Quest 3s then you needn’t kick yourself, as you can still benefit from the Xbox Edition’s features on your device. Sure, you’ll miss out on a limited edition colourway, which we must admit does look pretty cool, and the convenience of having a pre-paired Xbox controller, but otherwise the Quest 3s is the same.
Having said that, if you’ve been toying with the thought of ordering a Quest 3s then why not make the most of this limited edition Xbox version. Just keep in mind that it is more expensive than the standard version.
