Will fans of bloody thrillers be treated to another deadly series? At least that’s what Showtime promises on its social networks. While Dexter : New Blood will soon bow out in the United States, the original series has just celebrated its twentieth anniversary and interest in the serial killer does not seem to be weakening, the American channel provides news of the most anticipated project of all. On X, Showtime formalizes the start of filming for the first season of the project called Resurrection. This announcement is accompanied by a message from Michael C Hall himself. “I’m on set for the first day of Dexter: Resurrection. It happens. I can’t wait to start a new exciting journey, for you to experience it with us”. If the release date remains a mystery, the start of filming in January 2025 leaves the door open to an arrival on our screens in 2026.

Resurrection is still very mysterious but we already know that Michael C Hall will not be the only one to return to service. David Zayas and James Remar will reprise their respective roles for this revival. It is the same for Jack Alcott who will play Dexter’s son: Harrison. The presence of the latter is not surprising, the character promises to have a very particular importance for Resurrection. As a reminder, New Blood placed the character years after the events of the parent series, as he left Miami to settle down in New York State. The police forensic expert found himself confronted with his old demons. Among them, Harrison is determined to confront his father. After being shot, Dexter appeared to have been shot by his son. But Dexter: Resurrection lives up to its name and should evolve around its return to life.
Dexter: Origins is coming soon!
More than a month after its release in the United States, the series Original Sin finally arrives in our green lands. Canal+ has the exclusivity of this spin-off recounting the young years of Dexter Morgan. In 1991 in Miami, he was still a student and began an internship in forensic medicine at the Miami Police Department. But quickly, these bloodthirsty urges become stronger and stronger and Dexter finds help from his adoptive father Harry. The latter teaches him the art of killing people who deserve it without getting caught. Under the aegis of Clyde Phillips, the series also promises to evoke the way in which the character survived the end of New Blood. Patrick Gibson lends his features to the character in this ten-episode production. It will be broadcast from February 6 on Canal+ and via the MyCanal+ bouquet.
