Netflix to enter for the first time in live sports event:
This will be the first time when any OTT channels like Netflix will livestream the fight on its platform. It is Netflix’s biggest live sports event so far. The livestreaming will be available to 280 million subscribers at no extra cost. The company has already started its complimentary sports event named as Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson, which garnered the second spot in most-watched Netflix show.
The Netflix has all geared itself for the biggest fight of the year between social-media influencer turned boxer, Jake Paul and the one who needs no introduction, Mike Tyson. This could be the start of Netflix’s laying down foundations for telecasting future sports event, which the company never had intention to do. But the tables have turned, and this time the platform could break all records with hosting one of the biggest boxing match of 2024.
