SAMSUNG smartphone users across the world are set to receive a major upgrade in a matter of days with some big new features in tow.
The South Korean tech giant has developed a revamped interface centred around AI, with greater personalisation and even a tool that takes your camera’s videos to the next level.

Samsung’s devices run on its own adaption of Android known as One UI.
And a whole new version will start rolling out from next week.
The latest version, One UI 7, is already on the newest Samsung phones, the Galaxy S25 series.
Now it’s coming to older handsets, including last year’s S24 models and some foldables as well.
The home screen has been simplified with less visual clutter, along with new look widgets and lock screen changes.
A new notification system has been introduced too, with a Now Bar at the bottom of the screen similar to iPhone’s Dynamic Island, which highlights activities from various features like Interpreter, Music, Recording and Stopwatch.
The firm also says that its Galaxy AI allows you to simplify everyday tasks so you don’t have to switch between apps as often.
AI Select recommends actions based on selected content, for example, you can swipe the Edge Panel and tap the AI Select icon when watching a video to create a GIF file.
Meanwhile, Writing Assist provides users with the power to easily summarise or automatically format content in which text can be selected.
One new feature coming to the camera is Audio Eraser.
This lets you control the level of each sound and improve audio quality – for example, you can remove an annoying voice talking over your scenic nature video, so only the sound of birds can be heard.
There’s deeper integration with Google’s own Gemini AI tool too.
Samsung is starting to roll out One UI 7 from April 7.
