Mir 2.23 is out today as the newest version of this Canonical-led library for crafting Wayland-based shells and for smaller desktops to ease the adoption of Wayland, with a focus on Ubuntu Linux platforms.

Mir 2.23 isn’t too exciting on the code front with just fixing a handful of different bugs. A majority of the changes in Mir 2.23 are around new and updated documentation.

Mir desktop docs

Standing out on the documentation side with Mir 2.23 is new documentation for using Mir to build a desktop environment. There is also a variety of new technical documentation for different Mir features, renaming the graphics support documentation to platform support, how to debug Mir Snaps, and other new documentation.
