Wednesday will be a feast of playoff baseball. All four playoff series are in action with two teams facing elimination on the road. This is the last four-game slate for the 2024 playoffs, so enjoy it, baseball fans.
First up, it’s Game 3 of Cleveland at Detroit. The Tigers will be hosting a playoff game for the first time in 10 years. It’s been 11 years since Detroit won a playoff game at home. The odds are incredibly close in this one, with Game 3 listed as a true pick ’em and the Tigers ever so slightly favored to win the series.
Later on Wednesday afternoon, the New York Mets try to knock out the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 4 of that series. It’s been nine years since the Mets made the NLCS. The Phillies have been there each of the last two years. Jose Quintana is making his second start of the postseason after pitching six scoreless innings last round against Milwaukee.
Then, the New York Yankees head to Kansas City in a crucial Game 3. The Yanks are still favored in that tied series, but have lost the top spot in the World Series odds to the San Diego Padres.
The Padres are up 2-1 against the Los Angeles Dodgers after winning Game 3 6-5 behind a six-run second inning. San Diego is +275 to win the World Series. Of course, these odds move with every playoff game, but that’s already a shift from seeing the Yankees and Dodgers at the top of those odds all season.
Here’s a look at the odds and projections from The Bat X for Wednesday’s MLB games.

MLB game projections from THE BAT X
In the tables below, you’ll see details for each MLB matchup, then a lot of numbers (which are updated all day):
- “Moneyline” shows each team’s odds on BetMGM.
- “Implied Win%” is the chance a team has to win based on those BetMGM odds.
- “THE BAT X win%” is the chance a team has to win based on EV Analytics’ projections.
- “Cash Line” is how THE BAT X would price each team’s odds.
- “Value” is the percentage difference between the odds chances and our projections.
The higher the value percentage, the better — which you can easily see from the color coding from red (bad pick) through to green (good pick).
Note: On mobile, you may have to scroll to see the color-coded “Value” column on the far right of the first set of tables.
Another note: If you’re seeing old data or the tables aren’t showing up, you may need to “hard refresh” this page, or you may have an ad blocker or other software blocking the tables from loading.
