Larry’s nephew Dennis Tamblyn announced his uncle’s passing on Facebook: “A few years ago, The Standells played at Hotel Congress here in Tucson and Larry stayed with me.
“It was so great to hang out with him and catch up. He was still making music well into his later years. You will be missed, Uncle Larry.”
The Standells are an American garage rock band from LA that have been referred to as a ‘punk band of the 1960s’.
Formed in 1962, they are thought to have inspired the Sex Pistols and the Ramones during the band’s six-decade career.
Tamblyn came from a family of Hollywood stars, with his brother Russ starring in Django Unchained and Drive.
