N26 is no longer content to manage your money: the neobank also wants to take care of your mobile package. The German company, known for its 100 % digital approach to the bank, arrives on the telecoms market with N26 SIM, an offer that aims to be both flexible, affordable and without headache. It is available today across the Rhine.

An esim and zero commitment

No need for a physical sim card: everything goes through an ESIM that can be activated in a few minutes from the N26 application. The whole rests on the 5G network of Vodafone. In terms of packages, three options: 10 GB for € 13.99/month, 30 GB for € 19.99/month and 100 GB for € 34.99/month.

Unlimited calls and SMS, Roaming included throughout the EU and the European Economic Area, and above all: possibility of terminating at any time with a month of notice. You can keep your number or ask for a new one, and everything has been done from the app. No commitment, no paper, no shop.

Valentin Stalf, the boss of N26, explains: “ We want our customers to activate their mobile package as simply as they open a bank account. He relies on simplicity and the absence of constraints to seduce, in a country where mobile plans often cost two to three times more expensive than in the rest of Europe.

N26 is not the first neobank to try it. Revolut, his great British rival, has recently launched his own packages, with in particular 20 GB of roaming in Europe and the United States for a very competitive monthly rate. The N26 formula aims a little the same audience: young, mobile users, and especially comfortable with all-drug.

Behind this new offer, there is a clear desire to diversify the sources of income. N26 has five million customers, but is far from the 52 million revolut. To grow without raising more funds, the bank wants to offer more services in its application, as it has already done with insurance or soon trading of raw materials.

In Germany, several brands already offer ESIM packages, such as Aldi or Tchibo. But N26 relies on fluid integration with its online bank to make the difference. And if the offer works, it could be exported elsewhere in Europe.
