NavInfo, a major digital mapping company in China, is nearing completion of its planned acquisition of autonomous driving firm PhiGent Robotics. Since 2023, NavInfo has been pursuing a clear strategic shift toward becoming a Tier 1 supplier in intelligent driving, continuously ramping up its investment in the sector. PhiGent Robotics’s core strength lies in its full-stack mass production capability based on Horizon’s J6E/M chips. Its flagship pure-vision highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) solution is scheduled to enter mass production in the fourth quarter of this year. If the acquisition is finalized, it will strengthen NavInfo’s R&D capabilities in mid-to-high level intelligent driving and enhance its ability to deliver a full-stack solution combining “maps + chips + algorithms.” [Icsmart, in Chinese]
