The big NetBSD 11.0 release continues on approach with NetBSD 11.0-RC2 having been released as the latest test candidate.
NetBSD 11.0 is shaping up to be a big milestone for the project. NetBSD 11.0 has initial 64-bit RISC-V CPU support, initial suppport for Qualcomm Snapdragon X SoCs, better support for Linux system call handling via compat_linux, enhanced POSIX.1-2024 compliance, and a new MICROVM kernel for x86/x86_64 for fast virtual machine booting. The better Linux system call handling yields a much better Linux emulation experience on NetBSD 11.0.
There are also a variety of other new drivers and then software updates like GCC 12.5, GDB 15.1, and OpenSSH 10, among others.
